Saying goodbye to a much-loved pet can be an emotional and heartbreaking experience. Often, as our pets near the end of their lives they can be sick, debilitated, less mobile and/or in pain. We realise that saying goodbye to a beloved pet is one of the hardest things you will ever have to do. We also understand that in many circumstances, transporting your pet to a veterinary clinic can be distressing and difficult for both your pet and for you.
Paws at Peace offers a dedicated home euthanasia service for terminally ill or elderly pets in Melbourne and surrounding suburbs, between 9am and 11pm every day. Our aim is to provide a service that enables you and your family to say your final goodbyes to your beloved pet in the comfort and familiarity of your pet’s own home, away from the setting of a busy veterinary clinic or emergency vet hospital. We believe that spending the last moments of what has been a wonderful journey together should be calm, peaceful and stress-free for both pet and owner. Our clients are grateful to be able to hold and cuddle their pet in a safe and nurturing environment, as pet and owner share their last moments together. Our vet, Dr Amy Jeffreys, is a fully qualified and registered veterinarian who has a special interest in end of life care of geriatric and terminally ill patients. Dr Amy provides pre-euthanasia guidance and preparation via email or phone, peaceful home euthanasia, and bereavement support. We always use sedation before euthanasia to ensure that your pet is calm and in no distress. Options for aftercare include home burial, group cremation or private cremation. |
